In the viking age, animal skins were possibly the most valued and often traded goods. These were not only for practical use such as warmth, decoration, crafting into clothing or accessories, and collected and traded for a profit, but there was also a spiritual element to these skins. In the Norse beliefs, this was called the "Hamr."
These male reindeer hides with beautiful, thick, warm fur are imported from Norway and are a slightly darker color than the female(doe). The sun-dried hides are stiffer and tough so that the fur does not shed like the traditional tanned ones. They are also more water resistant which makes the sun dried ones better for outdoor use.
Size is roughly 80x140cm(30"x55") or more.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Avoid folding for long periods of time. Keep hide in a cool and dry area when not in use. Avoid sun exposure and heated floors for long periods of time.
CLEANING: Vacuum clean on lowest power and work carefully. Cleaning should be done about once a year.
